Getting Started

Do you train businesses and organizations on site?

Yes. Our Workplace Readiness Programs are delivered at your location and scheduled around your operation. Programs include De-Escalation Tactics, Active Shooter Response, First Aid CPR/AED, and Unarmed Self-Defense.

We work with businesses, nonprofits, churches, schools, and community organizations. Call 502-586-2747 or email support@rhinoxrg.com to talk through what your team needs.

Do you provide security officers for businesses?

Yes. Rhinox Private Security provides site security assessments, uniformed armed and unarmed officers, access control and monitoring, emergency response, and detailed incident reporting.

Every engagement starts with a free consultation so we can build coverage around your site. Call 502-586-2747 to schedule one.

Where are you located?

Rhinox Research Group is at 1300 W Muhammad Ali Blvd STE 120, Louisville, KY 40203. Classroom instruction happens at our facility, and live fire portions take place at a local range. Be prepared to travel to the range for the shooting portion of any live fire class.

Events

Which class do I need for a Kentucky concealed carry permit?

The Concealed Carry Permit Course is the one you want. Successful completion allows you to apply for a Concealed Carry Deadly Weapon (CCDW) permit through the Kentucky State Police CCDW program.

The class runs about six hours in the classroom plus an hour of range time, and covers conflict avoidance, the legal use of force, basic shooting skills, and what to do after an incident. You will fire 20 rounds and receive a certificate of completion.

Do I need to own a gun to take a class?

No. Rentals are available for every live fire class. If you are brand new and still deciding what to buy, taking the Basic Handgun Safety Training first is a good way to try a handgun before you purchase one.

What should I bring to class?

For our live fire handgun classes, bring:

  • Your handgun (rentals available)
  • One magazine
  • 20 rounds of ammunition, which stay out of the classroom until the range portion
  • A pen and notebook

For the full-day Concealed Carry Permit Course, also bring lunch. You get a 30 minute break.

For the USCCA Instructor Certification Course, bring your handgun, two magazines, and 100 rounds.

We provide safety equipment, range targets, range time, and refreshments at no extra cost.

What is your rescheduling and refund policy?

Refund and Rescheduling Policy

This policy applies to all firearms classes.

  • You may reschedule once with at least 48 hours’ notice before your scheduled class.
  • Cancellations received at least 48 hours before class receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than 48 hours before class are not refundable.
  • If Rhinox Research Group cancels the class, you may receive a refund or agree to another class date.
  • If the published minimum for the class is not met, you may choose a refund or transfer.

Other classes

You may reschedule once if you contact us at least 48 hours before your original class date.

Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the class date receive a full refund. Cancellations after that point are not refundable.

If Rhinox reschedules a class, the same terms apply. If we cancel a class, you receive a full refund.

Is there a minimum class size?

Yes. Most classes require a minimum of four students to run, and the USCCA Instructor Certification Course requires two. If a class does not meet its minimum we will cancel it, and you can choose a full refund or move to another date at no additional cost.
